Our company believes it is important to give up-and-coming talent the opportunity to develop. To get people working in inland navigation, places are needed where students can gain experience through an apprenticeship. Devanci BV is recognised by SBB as a training company. We are allowed to assist cadets and skippers in their training. It is therefore possible to do an internship with us, from someone who has never seen a ship before to the full completion of your skipper training. You can come to us for an internship of both BOL and BBL training. Back in 2013, we trained someone and since 2022 we have been doing this more actively again.

We like to teach enthusiastic students the tricks of the trade. To this end, we have prepared a home on board where a student stays during his or her traineeship. This home is fully equipped so that the student can work quietly on school and retire after a day’s work. You will first learn to tie up the mooring lines. Next, you get to learn all about cleaning and maintaining the ship. Because the profession is very diverse, it does not stop there. We teach you how to load or unload a ship, how to sail stretches and finally how to moor the ship from the wheelhouse. We also help with schoolwork whenever possible.
